Bamboo Village roars into Wallingford

Bamboo Village, Wallingford’s newest eatery — and the only dim sum restaurant within five miles — opened with a bang today.

Five lion dancers from the Mak Fai Kung Fu Club in the International District performed the traditional Southern Chinese dance to ward off evil spirits, accompanied by the sounds of drums, gongs and firecrackers.

The green lion was new, and needed to have its “eyes painted” (pupils added), we were told, so that it would come to life.

After the performance owner Po Lee opened the restaurant doors to the invited crowd.

The restaurant at the corner of Stone Way and N. 49th Street will be open seven days a week and will serve dim sum all day, every day.

  1. Can someone tell them they spelled “everyday” wrong on their sign? It’s missing the first “E.”

  2. Neighbor… is there a reason why you can’t tell them? You have to wait until you get into a public forum (anonymously) and criticize a sign instead of the food or service? What a waste of time you are.
