Shakespeare in the Park
Start your weekend early with GreenStage‘s performance of “Romeo and Juliet” at Lower Woodland Park tonight at 7:00 p.m., or make a plan for Friday evening’s “As You Like It” or Saturday’s choice between the two classics.  Details are on My Green Lake. Performances are free, but donations are accepted.

Wallingford Community Kitchen: All About Berries
The farmers markets are buried in berries lately, so it’s only appropriate that this month’s Wallingford Community Kitchen, Friday evening at 5:30, would focus on those succulent morsels.

Check out this menu:

* Baked Brie with Strawberry Balsamic Sauce
* Strawberry-Goat Cheese Bruschetta
* Meatballs with Berry Pinot Noir Sauce
* Strawberry Spinach Salad
* Berry Crisp

See how to attend.

Wallingford Walks: Artists and Writers
We’ll have “I could walk forever” weather this weekend (highs in the low 70s), so consider kicking it off with a walk around the neighborhood to meet some of its fascinating residents. Wallingford Walks organizer Mike Ruby shared this description of this Saturday’s monthly walk:

This walk will feature Wallingford art and the artists who create it. We’ll talk to them about their craft and what it is that keeps them creative. Visit with one of the artists who developed the beautiful fence at the Boys’ and Girls’ Club, a Wallingford author of not just internationally renowned novels but cookbooks too, and a Wallingford artist who is preparing a show for a Wallingford art gallery.

Meet at Tully’s (N. 45th and Meridian Ave N) at 10:00 a.m. for the 90-minute walk.

Wallingford Center Sales
Crackerjack celebrates its 24th anniversary and holds its annual summer sale. Joining in the fun and savings are Yazdi and 4 Your Eyes Only.

Plus, in thanks for 8 years in business in various Seattle locations, everything at Izilla Toys will be 20% off this weekend.

Keep up with all the Wallingford Center happenings on its Facebook page.

  1. I shut down my Facebook account on January first for lots of good reasons (privacy issues, Facebook is anti-intimacy in my opinion, etc.) I hate seeing Facebook links now on articles — links to the “details” I need that are locked and hidden behind a Facebook log-in.

    I shouldn’t HAVE to patronize Facebook in order to get the community information I need. Sheesh.
