Are You Ready For The Wurst Festival Tonight & Tomorrow!?!

September 19th, 2014 by master

What started as a small school fundraiser 30 years ago now brings over 10,000 visitors to the Wallingford neighborhood.

The Wurst Festival is a family friendly Octoberfest-esque festival celebrating the end of summer and happens Sep 19 & 20th at St. Benedict School in Wallingford.

Everyone in your household will enjoy the fun rides, delicious food and a lot of activities for kids. Being a neighborhood festival you’ll also get a chance to meet and greet some of your neighbors before the cooler weather holes everyone up for nine months.

In addition to the Brats, there will be craft booths, homemade sweets, books for sale, a biergarten, raffle and tons of live entertainment on the outdoor stage.

So plan you weekend accordingly –here’s the schedule for you:

Theater for the kids: 'Willy Wonka' at St. Ben's

April 20th, 2010 by master

Want to introduce the kids to live stage performance but don’t want to pay high prices? This Thursday and Friday evening the 5th through 8th graders at St. Benedict’s school will perform “Willy Wonka Jr.,” a show adapted for younger actors, but with all the familiar songs and characters from the movie version of Roald Dahl’s book “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.”

Mary in the school office told us that there are tickets left for the Thursday and Friday performances ($5 for adults; $2 for kids), and that the $30 adults-only Saturday dinner tickets are sold out. She mentioned, however, that they’ve added $15 balcony tickets on Saturday, which includes hors d’oeuvres, wine, and dessert.

There’s more information about the show at the St. Ben’s site.
