About 35 people gathered in front of Not a Number Gifts on N. 45th St. Tuesday evening to speak their mind about the BP oil spill. Some grabbed a microphone and jumped on a soapbox, while others waved signs at passing vehicles, listening to the occasional honks of support in return.
“They came really upset and depressed and they left feeling hopeful, like you know the people can get together and make change, make something better. And that makes it all worth it,” said Kara Ceriello, who co-owns Not a Number Gifts and organized the event to correspond with MoveOn’s nationwide vigils. A similar event was held at Cal Anderson Park, drawing about 70 people. Tuesday marked the 50th day of the oil spill.
By the way, Not a Number now sells a number of oil-themed buttons and stickers, some made by a local artist.
What an absolute waste of time and airspace. These idiots should go volunteer or something. Leave this douchery for the talking heads on TV.
