With All Hallow’s Eve just around the corner, all sorts of options are popping up for weekend Halloween activities. Here are a few of the festivities to choose from:
Wallingford Eats’ Food Truck Pod: On Monday night from 4:00-7:00 pm, on the Uptown Espresso corner, there will a BIG Food Truck Pod featuring 11 trucks, all staff in costumes and treats for kids. Stewart Chung from BUNS created a great visual.
Trophy Cupcakes Costume Contest: On Monday, October 31, Trophy will have their 3rd Annual Cupcake Costume Contest, where kids are encouraged to dress up as their favorite cupcake. Prizes include a $100, $50, or $25 Trophy Cupcakes and Party gift card. Everyone who enters the contest will receive a free cupcake.
Archie McPhee Blood Drive: On Saturday, October 29 and Monday, October 31 from 1-5pm Jordan “Zombiemaker” Speers will be doing free special effects scary make up for customers. On Monday, October 31 12-6 is Archie McPhee’s 18th annual Blood Drive. All week: raffle tickets for 13 cents each– all the money goes to Wolf Haven and the winner gets a big box of Archie McPhee spooky stuff. There will be a drawing on October 31.
Woodland Park Zoo Pumpkin Bash: From the zoo: “Pumpkin Bash celebrates fall with a repertoire of animal behavior as hippos, elephants, birds, bears and more crunch, smash or stomp on orange gourds of all sizes; trick-or-treating in the Pumpkin Promenade presented by Umpqua Bank; programs in Zoomazium’s indoor, nature play space; and crafts. Live entertainment at Pumpkin Bash includes Tribe, a children’s dance troop from Art Rise Dance School, and Thriller performances by Roosevelt High School.” The Pumpkin Bash is from Saturday to Sunday, October 29-30, 9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. For a full schedule of the events, visit their site. Wallingford Boys and Girls Club Halloween Hoopla: On Saturday, October 29, the Boys and Girls Club will have, “carnival games, a cake walk, arts and craft, cream the counselor, trick-or-treating, prizes, food, drinks and fun for everyone.” You can also visit their two haunted houses: “The Dark Carnival” haunted house, which is suitable for older youth and parents and Frankenstein’s Lab which is suitable for all ages. From the Boys and Girls Club, “Come see how we’ve transformed our club on 45th Street into one of the best events for kids in the North Seattle area! $1 buys you 5 activity tickets and gets you in the door. Please bring in cans for our local food bank. Each can is worth one ticket after the initial $1 is paid.”
Mosaic Coffeehouse Shindig: On Saturday, October 29 from 7-11 p.m., Mosaic will have live music, costume contests, prizes, a full coffee bar, and (of course) candy. “Show up in a costume, and get a free drink. Show up in a GREAT costume, and you might win a prize!”
