In the wake of the Seahawks loss earlier this month, it’s now up to Tangletown’s own Mighty-O Donuts to bring us a much needed 2015 win!
In 2011, Mighty-O Donut’s Sara Beth Russert was sent to compete in a national “Food Network Challenge: Donut Champions” and took the win beating Top Pot. Now, Mighty-O is sending Julie Twiggs to compete in another Food Network Challenge, but this one is International!
Mighty-O Donut ‘Queen’, Julie Twiggs. Has been invited by the Food Network to compete in the Donut Showdown, and will go against other international top donut creators. Mighty-O is proud to say that this is the third time the Food Network has invited their donuts to appear on one of their networked shows.
To celebrate, the Mighty-O Donuts Tangletown location will be hosting an episode viewing of the Food Network episode ‘Great Outdoors’ on Wednesday, February 11th 6:30pm-8:30pm.
In addition to the show, free donuts and coffee will be given to audience members, with emphasis on a selection of seasonal donuts and Julie’s Food Network donut creation.
Ryan Kellner, owner and founder of Mighty-O Donuts, commented that “it was an honor for us to be invited to another Food Network program”. He applauds Twiggs saying that she ” is an invaluable part of our team; it was an easy choice to send her to represent our company”.
For those of you who don’t know, Mighty-O Donuts produce all of their own donut mixes and glazes from scratch using organic ingredients. They identify as a sustainably minded bakery, and donate their extra donuts to non-profit organizations serving the hungry.
