There is a new line of t-shirts for the little ones to show off some neighborhood pride.
The t-shirts are hand-drawn images that represent many of Seattle’s unique neighborhoods. Owner of Little Orange Room, Anne-Lise Hurn, screen-prints them in her basement. “The idea came when we were trying to decide where to live after graduating from UW. I quickly saw how proud each neighborhood was of their tiny pocket of Seattle. This intense pride needed to be displayed. What better way then on your other pride and joy: your kids!” says Hurn.
So far Hurn has come up with designs for 14 Seattle neighborhoods – Wallingford has Gasworks Park with a float plane, Ballard has the viking, Fremont has the troll, and Greenwood showcases the long-celebrated car show. More neighborhood tees can be seen here.
