A week after the catastrophic earthquake and tsunami hit Japan, some Wallingford businesses are raising money for relief:

  • Zoka (2200 N. 56th St.) has additional donation jars at their locations for folks to support the relief effort. Staff have also been donating a part of their tips each day. As of yesterday, the three Zoka locations had raised over $1000 from staff and customers. In addition, through this weekend, Zoka will donate $1 from each bag of coffee sold to the Red Cross effort.
  • Japanese grill Issian (1618 N. 45th St.) is donating the proceeds from all miso soup sales.
  • Kisaku (2101 N. 55th St.) is one of three dozen restaurants that have joined Red, White, Unite, a fundraiser for Peace Winds America. On April 6 participants will donate 10 percent of sales.
