If you’re a fan of Molly Moon’s ice cream, alert your friends in Ballard, Queen Anne and Madrona that her third shop will open in one of those neighborhoods — and they can have a say where.
Over the next three months, the Molly Moon’s ice cream truck (named Leo) will be parked in the three prospective neighborhoods to see where they have the most followers. Leo will start in Madrona this month, move to Queen Anne in January and finish off in Ballard in February.
Social media is also playing a part in the process. Fans can “like” the official “Bring Molly Moon’s to Ballard/Queen Anne/Madrona” Facebook page if residents want the ice cream shop to permanently move to their neighborhood.
Molly Moon’s debuted at 1622 N. 45th St. in Wallingford in 2008 and a year later owner Molly Moon Neitzel opened a Capitol Hill shop.
