Have a project that would improve the neighborhood but need some money? Consider applying for the Neighborhood Matching Fund Small and Simple grant program. Applications are due by 5 p.m. on July 12 – that’s three weeks away.
Among last year’s grants were three for Wallingford: the 46th Street Mural project received $14,951; the Friends of McDonald School received $14,999; and Wallingford Community Center Steering Committee received $15,000.
Under the program, which first started in 1988, award recipients will receive up to $20,000 for their projects. Each award is matched by the communities’ volunteer labor, donated materials, donated professional services or cash. To be eligible, an entrant must prove that their project will improve their neighborhood and community.
