Our sister sites Fremont Universe and My Ballard have covered the Fremont apartment fire that took the lives of four children and one adult since the tragic story began on Saturday morning. They report now that an account has been set up at Bank of America to donate money to the affected families. It’s called the Seattle Children’s Fire Fund, and any branch can take donations. (Look for your nearest Bank of America “banking center” here.)

A new booth is also being set up at this weekend’s Fremont Fair, where people can make donations.

Last night the fire victims’ next door neighbor Allecia Clemons has a fundraiser potluck and said that she also is setting up a community concert to raise money for the family — an effort that has attracted the attention of the Parks Department and other musicians who want to help. If you’re interested in helping organize the concert, please contact Allecia at allecialightlove@hotmail.com.
