Saturday’s Edible Book Festival was emceed by Nancy Guppy, who used to perform on a local sketch-comedy TV show called “Almost Live” that was very popular when we moved to Seattle in 1992. For better or worse, we learned a lot of local stereotypes from that show (Ballard was filled with hazardous elderly Scandinavian drivers, e.g.). In this clip, which appears to have been shot in 1991– “Thelma and Louise” is showing at the Guild 45th–a cop deals with the new-age problems of super-mellow Wallingford.
