Soon Wallingford will have another spot to get a caffeine fix. In a few months the old Payday Loan space, set in from N. 45th between Corliss and Sunnyside, will transform into Uptown Espresso, the eighth location for the local company.
Uptown CEO and president Dow Lucurell told us via email that he’s been looking for a Wallingford location for about three years. “Uptown has always sought out neighborhoods where people live and work,” he said, referring to “Home of the Velvet Foam” locations in Queen Anne, Belltown, West Seattle and other neighborhoods.
“As a fourth-generation Seattle resident I have always loved the independence and spirit of the Wallingford community,” Lucurell said. “We were so excited to have the space open up with great access and lots of parking.”
Lucurell plans to open Uptown Espresso in early spring 2011 at 2300 N. 45th St.
