Want to introduce the kids to live stage performance but don’t want to pay high prices? This Thursday and Friday evening the 5th through 8th graders at St. Benedict’s school will perform “Willy Wonka Jr.,” a show adapted for younger actors, but with all the familiar songs and characters from the movie version of Roald Dahl’s book “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.”

Mary in the school office told us that there are tickets left for the Thursday and Friday performances ($5 for adults; $2 for kids), and that the $30 adults-only Saturday dinner tickets are sold out. She mentioned, however, that they’ve added $15 balcony tickets on Saturday, which includes hors d’oeuvres, wine, and dessert.

There’s more information about the show at the St. Ben’s site.

  1. I saw Willy Wonka Jr. tonight and thought it was a fantastic show. The kids did a really wonderful job and Wonka had a great voice. The sets were also fun and creatively designed.
