Fabric Crush unfurls in Wallingford Center

Wallingford Center welcomes a new store, Fabric Crush, today in the corner spot across from another recent arrival, Izilla Toys.

Owner Sarah Stine moved her shop from Magnolia, where she opened it last year. They were busting at the seams in their old space, but have ample browsing room and more stock in the new sunlit location. Stine told us jumped at the opportunity to relocate to the larger, busier Wallingford Center spot.

Fabric Crush offers an aesthetic far more Etsy than Grandma Betsy; Stine told us she chooses her fabrics based on “what appeals to me, is current, is unique.” Most of fabrics are contemporary and intended for garments and light upholstery (e.g., seat covers). Featured designers include Amy Butler, Heather Bailey and Kaffe Fassett.

This week Fabric Crush will settle in; classes for new and experienced sewists (Stine taught us a new word) will begin the week of March 22nd, to coincide with the store’s official grand opening.

Fabric Crush was also featured in a NW Source article yesterday about the revitalization of Wallingford Center. Read it here.
