JSIS playground needs $80K

A John Stanford International School parent sent along this urgent plea for funds to upgrade the playground, an amenity that is available to the whole community, not just the school. Partial funding has been provided by the City of Seattle Department of Neighborhoods, Latona School Associates, and the school’s PTSA, but more is needed very soon:

We just received final approval on our Phase 1 Project Plan from Seattle Public Schools and are in a fury trying to raise $80,000 by July 1st to maximize our limited summer break construction window.  If we don’t raise the money before July 1st we miss our window and a majority of the project will be delayed another year!

The funds will go to replacing an area of dirt and bushes with this netted climber:

  • PLEASE DONATE.  NO AMOUNT IS TOO SMALL!
  • Donate by mail.  Please send your check payable to JSIS PTSA and write ‘PLAYGROUND’ on your check.  Mail your check to JSIS PTSA, 4057 5th Avenue N.E., Seattle, WA 98105.
