Next week Wallingford favorite Irwin’s Bakery and Cafe will open its third location, in east Green Lake, our sister site My Green Lake reports.

Owner Linda Fecher told My Green Lake that she hopes for a grand-opening celebration on Mother’s Day (Sunday, May 8, 2011), with free treats for moms. A soft opening will precede that sometime in early May.

The bakery and cafe will be located at 301 NE 65th St. The location previously held PetDaddy, a self-serve dog wash and dog boutique. PetDaddy closed after a drunk driver crashed into its storefront.

The new cafe will be open Mondays through Fridays, 6 a.m. – 10 p.m.,  and  Saturdays and Sundays, 7 a.m. – 10 p.m.
