This Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the Wallingford Center (1815 N. 45th St.), children from neighborhood families will sell their artwork (as postcards) to benefit other kids.
Angele Hunskor told us in an email:
The event was sparked by neighborhood kids wanting to help other kids in need. Four families got together and had our kids create some original art pieces which we then made into postcards. The Wallingford Center generously donated the space for the kids to have their “art sale.”
In addition to selling their cards, the kids will have an art station set up with a variety of art supplies for kids to stop by and make art together. Donations for the art station are appreciated.
All money raised during the sale will go to Operation School Bell located in the Wallingford neighborhood. Operation School Bell is a non-profit which provides needy kids in Seattle Public Schools with warm coats, new jeans and shirts, backpacks, new shoes, etc.
The kids will be set up right in front of Izilla Toys.
Operation School Bell is run by the Assistance League of Seattle at 1415 North 45th St. Here’s a video from 2008 that shows the impact it has on Seattle kids:
