Sunday: Shop for a Cause around Wallingford

This Sunday, December 5, when you shop at many Wallingford Center and area businesses, you’re also giving a donation to the Wallingford Community Senior Center.

Judy Ayers, president of the Wallingford Center Merchants Association, told us that though “Shop for a Cause” was conceived as a Wallingford Center event, “I thought to include the neighboring businesses; after all it is a Wallingford community organization we are trying to support.”

Ayers said that a majority of Wallingford Center businesses are participating; others in the neighborhood that will give a portion of their Sunday sales are Wide World Books & Maps, Blue Star Cafe & Pub, City Cellars Fine Wines, Cutz Meridian, Sock Monster, and Not a Number Card & Gifts.

Many businesses that could not not donate a portion of their sales have instead contributed to a silent auction that will benefit the Senior Center; it’ll be held from 3 to 5 p.m. at Wallingford Center on Sunday. To see the dozens of businesses that have donated to the auction, scroll down on this page. Ayers said that there are even more businesses yet to join in.
