9:00 p.m.: The Wallingford Boys & Girls Club will be closed Wednesday due to weather (thanks, Jacqui).

The University of Washington will be open and operating normally tomorrow.

Brian Kraai took some great shots at Gas Works Park today and posted them in this Flickr set. Here’s his favorite:

And this was the scene at Gas Works:

5:00 p.m.: Seattle Public Schools will keep all schools and facilities closed Wednesday, Nov. 24. This means there is no school for students or staff and all activities will be canceled. The central office at John Stanford Center will also be closed.

All Seattle Public Libraries will be open from noon to 5:00 p.m. tomorrow.

1:00 p.m.: With the kids out of school and few people on the road, it’s a great day to stay close to home, get to know some neighbors, and have some fun with the snow while it lasts.

Officials warn that once the sun goes down, that melting snow will turn to ice.

Here was the scene earlier today Wallingford Playfield (click for a larger image):

7:15 a.m.: The day is dawning clear and cold. Really cold — the forecast is for a high in the 20s. The streets are sheets of ice, and officials urge you to stay home if you can.

All Seattle public schools are closed today, and we can’t find a private school in Seattle on SchoolReport.org that’s open. All classes are cancelled at the University of Washington and only essential personnel should report to work.

Metro buses will continue on snow routes today, but Metro warns:

Buses will be crowded and significantly delayed, perhaps even worse than Monday due to the road conditions. If those conditions severely deteriorate overnight, Metro may have to cancel entire bus routes in the morning.

Bus riders should check www.kingcounty.gov/metro/snow for the most current status of Metro service before traveling Tuesday. If you do not have internet access, call Metro’s Customer Information Center at (206) 553-3000. Due to the volume of calls, there could be a wait on the phone lines.

With schools out, we’ll see a lot of sledding today. This video is from our news partner The Seattle Times:
