Weds. in Wallingford: market, game night, more

Tonight is Wednesday in Wallingford! Here’s what’s happening:

The Farmers Market runs 3 to 7 p.m. in the south parking lot of Wallingford Center. Berry season is in full swing — perhaps it’s time to try your hand at making jam. You’ll find lots of inspiration on the Canning Across America site.

Chef Dustin Ronspies from Art of the Table returns to the Farmers Market for his second chef demo of the season at 4:00 p.m.

Izilla Toys, in Wallingford Center, hosts its monthly Family Game Night. Proprietors Jude and Jen urge everyone with kids 4 and up to “stop by for pizza, refreshments, and play some new and old favorite games.”

If you’ve shopped at the Farmers Market, Izilla and many other Wallingford Center businesses offer 10% off purchases. Be sure to ask!

You could top off your evening with Trophy‘s new Farmer’s Market Strawberry Cheesecake cupcake — strawberry cake with a graham cracker crust topped with strawberry cream cheese frosting.

Lastly, you may not wish to dip your toes in a wading pool on these chilly mornings, but by mid-afternoon the Wallingford Playfield wading pool (in full sun) is a perfect spot to spend an hour or two with the kids. The pool is open noon to 7:00 p.m.

Enjoy your Wednesday in Wallingford. If we’ve overlooked any Wallingford events, please let us know!
