Update: The Seattle Police Department posted this on their website today:

On June 8th at approximately 6:20 PM, a 1994 Mazda was travelling southbound on 5th Avenue NE when it went through the intersection at NE 50th Street, drove partially up onto the curb and struck a parked, unoccupied Lexus. The 65 year old female driver and her 92 year old female front seat passenger were both transported to Harborview Medical Center by Seattle Fire Department Medics. The driver suffered an eye injury and the passenger has life-threatening injuries. Detectives from the Traffic Collision Investigation Sqaud responded and began their investigation. The driver was investigated and released at the hospital after it was determined that she was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol. This remains an active and ongoing investigation.

Traffic was a mess after several accidents near the intersection of 5th Ave NE and NE 50th Street Tuesday evening. 5th Ave NE was closed for more than two hours.

The first accident happened just before 6:30 p.m. A witness whose car was hit tells MyWallingford that an elderly woman was driving and hit his new car, which was parked on the side of the road. He says that the woman and another elderly woman in the car were taken to the hospital complaining of bleeding from the head.

Two subsequent fender benders happened after the first accident. No word on injuries from these two collisions.
